With handling payloads of up to 12 kg, a truly impressive maximum workspace radius of 1,385 mm and exceptional
precision (repeatability: ± 0.05 mm) the new RV-S series is predestined for handling parts in industrial production and for chaining plant stations. An IP65 protection rating provides the
capabilities needed for heavy duty applications, like those in
the motor industry suppliers sector. The state-of-the-art
technology used in this series drastically reduces work cycle
times. All the new robots complete the 12-inch test in less than a second!

Multifunctional robot controllers

The robots are controlled by the multitasking controllers CR2B or CR3.Connection of any image processing system, control of up to 8 additional axes and high-speed communication via an Ethernet link are just a few of the impressive highlights of this high-performance robot controllers. Other features include automatic conveyor belt tracking, crash detection without sensors and a wide range of powerful functions for work cycle optimisation.

Useful workspace

Improved Productivity

- The fastest operation in the class [maximum composite speed 9.6 m/s (RV-12S)]. It is possible to improve the tact time and perform multiple complex work operations with one station.
- High load capacity. A high load capacity was achieved using hollow-structure motors specifically designed for robot applications. More complex hand work operations are supported as well.
- Improved environmental resistance [arm: IP65/body: IP54]. The rotation joints are completely sealed in the hollow-structure joint motors and reduction gears. MELFA RV-S series robots can be placed almost anywhere and can be applied for a wide range of purposes.
- Space saving. The joints are made smaller by directly connecting the hollow-structure motor with reduction gears and bearings.
- The robots can be applied to a wider range of systems due to their sophisticated functions, such as multi-tasking operation and additional axis control.

Reduction of Maintenance Cost

Damages to peripheral devices are minimized. [New function: impact detection function]
Less time is required for startup, adjustment and maintenance tasks. [New function: position restoration support function]
It is notified when maintenance is due. [New function: maintenance forecast function.]

Providing Safety

Since the motors are equipped with brakes for all the axes, the safety when the robot stops is secured.
The safety is improved by the use of redundant emergency stop breakers.
